Join COG and Pilot Hill in expanding access to public lands! Volunteers will take down and remove up to 1.5 miles of barbed wire fence that runs east-west through the upper portion of Pilot Hill. Removing this fence will help prepare the corridor for a new trail that will be built later this fall, as well as remove a barrier for wildlife movement across the property.
The Basics
- Saturday, August 6th 9am-12pm
- Meet in the parking area across from Tie City, where we will carpool the remaining distance. Look out for the COG banner!
- The work includes clipping and rolling barbed wire, and hauling rolls out. We will be at an elevation of 8800 feet, so be prepared for intense sun.
- Bring: a water bottle and if possible a pair of leather work gloves.
- Wear: Hard-sided pants work pants, close-toed shoes, long sleeve shirts, sunglasses, weather appropriate layers, etc.
- We will provide lunch, a water refill station, and extra leather gloves.
